ISSUING

The current issue of payment cards of TAS Link’s customers in May 2025 increased by 28% compared to May 2024 and by 4% compared to April 2025. The structure of payment systems is dominated by Mastercard with 86% (a significant increase in the structure over the year by 29%)

Dynamics of issuers’ transactions in May 2025: +31% compared to the same period last year and +6% compared to the previous month

The size of the average check also practically did not change in May 2025 compared to both the same period last year and the previous month (-2%)

In terms of the number of issuers’ transactions by type the dynamics and structure are unchanged compared to April 2025: purchases in POS – 35%, purchases in E-com – 20%, P2P – 44%, cash withdrawals – only 0.2%

The geographical structure of issuers’ transactions remains unchanged from the previous month: 94% of transactions were carried out within Ukraine, respectively, 6% – abroad

The highest value of the average check for issuers’ transactions is observed in P2P – more than 2200 UAH, purchases in E-com and POS are about 850 UAH and 400 UAH, respectively. Monthly dynamics can be noted in purchases (+8% in May)

The size of the average check abroad is higher. In May the dynamics: -2% for a domestic check and +12% for a check abroad

86% of issuers’ transactions fall into three categories: department stores, retail stores and business services. Department stores occupy the lion’s share: 53%. The structure of transactions for the month did not change

In the context of MCC department stores also have a relatively larger average check: more than 2000 UAH against 360 UAH in retail stores, UAH 970 – in business services, UAH 1450 – in other categories

ACQUIRING

The number of transactions of TAS Link’s customers in May 2025 increased by +42% compared to May 2024. Monthly dynamics: +4%

However, the size of the average year-on-year check in April decreased by -4% with almost no fixation of monthly dynamics

Purchases in E-com occupy a leading position in the structure of acquiring transactions (51%) and have a significant upward trend: compared to May 2024 these transactions added +5% in the structure. POS purchases also increased from 29% to 35% over the year. P2P transactions show a decline in structure

The size of the average check for all types of transactions has a significant upward trend. The largest average check is recorded among cash withdrawal transactions: 10000 UAH, then P2P – 2000 UAH

78% of the number of acquiring transactions falls on three categories: services (29%), department stores (25%) and business services (25%) with a slight redistribution of shares between categories per month

In the context of MCC services are distinguished by the lowest average check: about 400 UAH against 800 UAH in business services, UAH 1230 – in department stores and UAH 1540 – in other categories

E-COMMERCE

The Internet transactions segment grew by +31% year-on-year in May 2025. In the structure of the number of transactions the lion’s share belongs to purchases in E-com (78%). The rest of the P2P segments have approximately the same shares: Card2Card, Card2Account, Account2Card

In May 2025 compared to the same period last year we see an active increase in the use of wallets: Apple Pay – growth from 29% to 36%, G-Pay: from 10% to 12%. Accordingly, the share of other methods of card entry decreased over the year from 61% to 53%
